Welcome to Castro Farms
Where the Castro Family grow farm fresh produce from seed to table in their sunny fields in WA’s South West…
Castro Farms had its humble beginnings in 1991 with Joe leaving the family farm in Kirup where he grew up raising cattle and growing produce, and buying the first 70 acres in Myalup, growing potatoes for two years before venturing into growing onions.
In 1994, he then expanded to our current home property (170ac) and started to dabble with growing a few acres of carrots as well as still growing the main crop of potatoes and a few acres of onions.
In 1996, Sonia moved down from Perth bringing with her a wealth of knowledge about market gardening having grown up working on her parents market garden in Wattleup and together we bought 100 acres that were adjoining Joe’s first property and started to expand the carrots and onions production.
We now have property in Binningup as well as expanding our original property in Myalup to total (446ac) allowing for increased production, to give us more ground for crop rotation and resting the ground in between crops.
Carrots continue to be our main product and we currently supply the Middle East markets, whilst also supplying local and eastern states markets, as well as IGA supermarkets
